BAD coffee
9 Oslo House, Prince Edward Road, London E9 5LX (100m from Hackney Wick station)
BAD Coffee offers an authentic East London coffee experience where exceptional specialty beans meet the creative spirit of Hackney Wick. This female-led micro-roastery occupies a cozy corner of Oslo House, serving as both neighborhood fixture and specialty coffee destination for the area's thriving artistic community. Co-founders Mandi and Alex bring small-batch roasting expertise with an irreverent spirit that perfectly matches their surroundings.
Every bag hand-labeled, every batch carefully roasted to bring out bold, unexpected flavours from smallholder farms worldwide. Their signature house blend "Nat Has Her Beans" showcases Brazilian, Rwandan, and Ethiopian beans with notes of dark chocolate, berries, and almonds, while monthly guest roaster spotlights introduce customers to exceptional beans from other specialty roasters.
The atmosphere embraces Hackney Wick's DIY roots with comfortable sofa seating, outdoor tables, and a genuinely welcoming vibe. Dogs are welcome, the space is wheelchair accessible, and customers consistently praise the friendly baristas who create memorable experiences whether you're grabbing coffee to-go or settling in to work.

“We source our beans from smallholder farms around the globe, supporting sustainable practices and the communities that grow our coffee. We choose to work with importers that have strong relationships with producers and contribute to sustainable and community projects in origin countries. By partnering with these importers, we ensure that our beans are not only delicious but also ethically sourced.'“
